Well, here we are again. Another year, another wrap up. I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. 2022 is just a couple short weeks away……crazy!
This year practically flashed before my eyes. Today I want to recap some of the best moments, acknowledge the challenges and note a few new things that are on the horizon in 2022.
First and foremost, I want to say that I’m especially grateful for the community we have built here at Orangetree Interiors. I want to thank all the clients, our interior design course students, and all of the supporters who read our emails and follow along our journey on social media for the constant support of Orangetree Interiors. Thanks to you, we continue to grow.
This year has been a whirlwind of craziness, but if it has taught me anything, it's definitely to be thankful and patient. 2021 started off exciting with lots of new projects and clients that feel like friends. Even in the midst of another lockdown, our business was able to thrive. To be 100% real and honest with you, my mental health suffered throughout the pandemic and my anxiety was at an all time high earlier this year. However, each new project felt inspiring and gave me hope that better days were ahead. I feel an immense amount of gratitude to all that trusted us to help decorate their homes.
This year has given Orangetree Interiors so many amazing opportunities, like expanding our team and launching our online furniture and decor shop. We’ve had a great year and can’t wait to see how we continue to grow in 2022.
In honor of an amazing year, here’s a snapshot of some of the projects we had the pleasure to work on throughout the year.
THE MINIMALIST MOUNTAIN HOME PROJECT
The minimalist mountain project was created for a thriving entrepreneur who values family, being in nature and comfortable living. With a desire for a sophisticated, calm space the whole family could enjoy, we focused on simple styling, quality furnishings and organic textures. The result is a mature space that is peaceful and comfortable for all.
THE COMFY, COZY COASTAL PROJECT
This home project was designed for a lovely young family who was moving into their forever home and loves all things comfort. With a baby and toddler still running around, this family needed their home to focus on function, but also be a space they would be proud to entertain in and personally enjoy. We combined their love for lounging with cozy textiles, comfortable furnishings and a coastal colour palette for a beautifully casual design that meets the whole families needs.
THE CLASSIC CONTEMPORARY PROJECT
This project was designed with approachability and sophistication in mind. We paired our clients’ love for hosting guests with minimalist, impactful design to create a classic space with plenty of seating to welcome friends and family in.
THE FAMILY-FRIENDLY CONTEMPORARY PROJECT
This family-friendly open concept design was created for a busy family with young children who value their Turkish heritage. With a love of simplicity and a desire for practical living and comfortability, we designed this space with minimalism and durability in mind. We incorporated Turkish artwork, family-friendly fabrics and non-fragile decor to create a beautifully styled home with personality that’s comfortable for the whole family.
THE COZY FARMHOUSE COASTAL PROJECT
This project was designed for two busy teachers with four active teenagers that love spending time together. The goal was to create a cozy, relaxed space to lounge, watch TV and play games in. We leaned into the cozy, comfort of farmhouse design and incorporated a few coastal elements and colours to achieve a relaxed vibe that is comfortable for all.
THE COLOURFUL CONTEMPORARY PROJECT
The colourful contemporary project was designed for a mindfulness and meditation practitioner that shared her space with her two teenage daughters. She wanted to incorporate her love of colour into her space without overpowering the room. We combined her love of minimalistic, modern design, with her warm and inviting personality to create a minimalistic space that is full of life.
THE REFINED COASTAL PROJECT
The refined coastal project was created for two busy medical professionals who wanted a calm, cozy, beautifully designed home to retreat to after a long day of work. We combined the calm of coastal design with the coziness of farmhouse and chose sophisticated furniture and decor for a refined design that is classic and timeless.
THE REFINED FARMHOUSE PROJECT
The refined farmhouse project was created for a family that embodies this design style - friendly, approachable and all class. We paired the clients’ love of modern farmhouse design with classic furnishings and decor for a cozy, comfortable space that is mature and timeless.
THE RELAXED FARMHOUSE COASTAL PROJECT
A mix of farmhouse, coastal and contemporary styling was used to create this relaxed open concept design. This design emulates the warm, easy-going nature of the couple it was created for. With a desire for a cozy, comfortable space to relax and decompress in, we chose furniture and textures that were reminiscent of farmhouse charm and coastal calm for a laid-back vibe with plenty of style.
THE TRANSITIONAL OPEN CONCEPT PROJECT
This transitional open concept design was created for clients who wanted to modernize their traditional home. They had an oversized room that wasn’t being used to its full potential. They wanted the space to feel mature, but be family-friendly and they needed it to function as a space to lounge in, entertain in and do homework or office tasks. To create this space we used a mix of modern, contemporary and traditional. We infused elements from each of these styles with a focus on durability to create a beautiful transitional open concept space the whole family can enjoy.
It’s been a busy year with so many blessings. We have truly enjoyed working on each and every project. When I started this business back in 2017 I had a desire to create a convenient interior decorating service for busy families. This year, our team has done just that. Between designing beautiful family-friendly homes and curating our favourite furniture and decor into unique design ideas that can be shopped in our online store, Orangetree Interiors has taken the convenience of interior decorating to new levels.
A lot has happened this year. Most of it good, but some things as a result of the pandemic, have negatively affected our industry. We have adapted well, but the new way in which we must operate requires a greater time commitment and resources. As a result, fees will be increasing in 2022. That said, there is still time to lock in services at our 2021 rates. We will be accepting new clients for 2022 at this year's rates until December 31st, 2021. Order your interior decorating service now to take advantage of our current pricing and we’ll get you scheduled in for the new year.
To view more of our designs and how clients felt about the service we offered, check out our portfolio here and testimonials here.
And as always, our online interior design course is available for learning our entire interior decorating process step-by-step so that you implement it in your home.
And make sure to visit our furniture and home decor shop to see some of our favourite pieces for you to include in your own home designs.
Thanks so much for such an amazing year. To keep in touch with us, be sure to join our Design Tribe. We send interior decorating tips regularly while keeping you informed about emerging interior design trends. We'd love for you to be part of our community.
Well, that’s a wrap 2021. Thanks for coming along for the ride. Wishing you and your family all the very best of the holiday season. See you in 2022!
