7 Years of Virtual Interior Design | Our Story & What's Next

Today marks a special milestone for Orangetree Interiors—seven incredible years of transforming houses into homes.

What began as a dream to make professional interior decorating accessible to more people has grown into a mission to help as many people as possible love their home and live more beautiful lives.

Growing up with meager means, I always dreamed of having a beautiful home that I could be proud of.  This desire to help others achieve the same led me to start Orangetree Interiors, aiming to provide professional interior design and decorating services to those who might not have had access otherwise.

Understanding the demands of a busy lifestyle and valuing family and friendships, I designed Orangetree Interiors to offer convenient VIRTUAL interior design and decorating services. This approach allows us to create beautiful homes without the time commitment of in-person meetings.

It took a supportive husband, courage and a leap of faith after losing my job in 2017 to start Orangetree Interiors. My passion for interior design, personal values and desire to help more people live beautiful lives drove me to create a service that makes professional design accessible to everyone, not just the elites.

I am determined to help as many people as possible love their home and do it in a way that is fun, easy and supportive of their lifestyle. I’ve achieved this through providing virtual services including paint consultations, design advice sessions, room and full-home interior decorating, a DIY Interior Design Course, two paint color eBooks, curating a variety of furniture and décor in our online shop and providing over 100 interior design-related articles on my blog. We’ve had 358 clients, over 95 students, and sold 105 eBooks and even made some friends along the way.

My ultimate mission goes beyond just creating beautiful spaces. I believe that a healthy mindset combined with a well-designed home can positively impact your overall well-being. Therefore, I incorporate elements of personal development and mindset into everything I do (I have a podcast that shares some of these ideas that you can check out here).  My hope is that I can help people not only love their home but also live a happier, more peaceful life.

While I absolutely LOVE what I do, it hasn’t been easy. My journey with Orangetree Interiors has been full of hard work, long hours, self-doubt, slow periods and uncertainty.  That said, I’m grateful for it all because it’s helped me grow not only as a designer and entrepreneur but also as a person.

Orangetree Interiors has survived a pandemic, my own personal depression and a challenging move from Canada to the USA. This business and all of you who have helped support it have been such a blessing to me. You have helped me learn to be resilient, you have helped support my family and my dreams and you have provided me with a life of freedom where I can help people live a more beautiful life from anywhere in the world. I am eternally grateful to you.

So what’s next for Orangetree Interiors? Well, I’ve been busy dreaming up more ways I can help as many people as possible love where they live – whether it’s through my existing services or the new ideas I can’t wait to share.
